This was really interesting. Apparently this area was filled with debris which got covered with flowstone. The rest of the debris washed away leaving this formation. The stuff behind the stalagmite is electrical wire. The work crew was cleaning up old wire. We ended up helping them carry a bunch of the wire out of the cave.
